What Are Core Values?

• Core values are like the left and right banks of a river…they establish boundaries…give direction…harness energy…define what is important…inspire.
• Core values are our conscious expectations and values that form our church family’s heart.
• Core values are the glue that holds us together and express our uniqueness as a church.
• Core values explain “why we do what we do” and are our fundamental and deeply held “ought’s.”

LHEF Core Values

With God’s Word as our foundation and compass, LHEF began as a God-focused, Christ-exalting, Bible-learning, relationship-centered, and gospel-sharing church. Through prayer, study, and counsel our conviction was that God raised up LHEF to be a community of faith defined, motivated, and directed by the following 13 core values:

• We value believers committed to God and to each other as part of a local church body
• We value sound doctrine
• We value the centrality of teaching the Scriptures in making disciples
• We value biblically qualified church leadership
• We value the involvement of committed core families and individuals in a House Fellowship
• We value the father’s (or single mother’s) spiritual headship in the home
• We value women’s ministry
• We value the fact that each individual is gifted, empowered and called to minister
• We value the fact that spiritual growth occurs in the context of relationship
• We value being good neighbors in our community
• We value wise stewardship of all that God has given us
• We value helping the helpless
• We value the Great Commission and raising up disciples
