You have found Us!
The “Us” you have located is Living Hope Evangelical Fellowship (LHEF). But of course, you have not actually found “us.” This is our web page. So, let us tell you a little about “us.”
We are a church. Yet, a church is not a building or a place to attend. LHEF is a community of believers in Christ. The Bible speaks of the church as a family, “brothers” and “sisters” (1 Cor. 1:10) who are the “household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of truth” (1 Tim. 3:15b). Thus, church that is LHEF is children, teens, college students, single adults, couples, and single parents who are a family of families.
On average our Sunday worship attendance is 60-80. While by American standards that is not large, we are somewhat bigger than the typical New Testament church. Our concern about numbers is this; “Is the church, our church, aiding the beginnings and growth of genuine biblical friendships?” What is more, relationship is a key to evangelism. The gospel of Christ is effectively advanced through life-on-life conversations between friends.
As you see at the bottom of our home page, we meet at 10:00 a.m. for Sunday worship at Wiley Canyon Elementary School in Santa Clarita, CA. If you are new to the area, looking for a church, or simply curious about Christ, the Bible, and Christianity, we would love to have you join us.
If you choose to visit us on Sunday, you will find our families to be warm and friendly. More importantly, in getting to know “us,” it is our prayerful intention that you will come to know something about Christ’s love, kindness, mercy, and forgiveness. In a small church not only is it difficult to hide, it is hard to be fake. We are a fellowship of believers committed to being a “family of families” that is both doctrinally sound and relationally winsome.
During the week our members meet in home groups, which we call “House Fellowships.” A two-way conversation about “how shall we then live” the truths that were taught on Sunday is the focus of House Fellowship.
Life change is grounded in, and the fruit of, truth. Yet, change involves so much more than that. Truth has to be assimilated. In addition, deep change that endures requires us to connect new truth to what we already know. And, we must learn how to apply new truth and how to adapt it to changing and unfamiliar situations. For those reasons and more, our home groups are essential continuations of Sunday worship.
